for starters, this trip was pretty crazy considering that shaun booked the tickets the night before (this surreal feeling lasted the entire trip...up till now) met up with shaun n james at t2 and sy at t3 before boarding~ took a cab to kuching cos there wasnt any bus there -.-' anw, wanted to buy tixs for nature park thingy but office was close. our initial plan was to scroll along the waterfront but shaun juz couldn get the map right!...the hawker center along the road made our stomach growl even louder. temptations ar temptations~ we hold our horses to a roadside stall selling snack. it was cheap and yummy (unlike those in sg...fking ex and yucky) esp the fried chicken on sataystick. took a detour and ended up at chinatown only to realise it was a sunday (most if the peeps dont work on sunday esp when there was a festival the day before~ and we missed it! _l_). checked into mr d's (backpackers hostel) for the night's stay. had chicken porridge and fried chicken for tea before making our way to the waterfront! to view the sunset~ james doesnt eat much man (over conscious about being fat -.-''' simi bmi -.-''' wth la) sy wanted to see the cat statue so we walked and walked and walked~ the entire of kuching~ and yes! she got her statue...planned to have dinner but james doesnt seem interested. anw, pics are alr up on fb. only one souvenir shop was open. head to this multi storey carpark that had a cinema on the top floor o.o on our way back, we caught hold of a famous singer in that area (freaking many ppl) before calling it a day. our conclusion abt kuching...boring 25may woke up early (shaun woke up at 530am...wth man) to have breakfast at the nearby mee stall down the road (the noodles!!!!! extremely yummy even without any toppings or sauce). caught a 1hr bus ride to jetty to bako nature park. lucky for us, the dude at the counter was nice enough to help us reserve rooms for a night's stay. it was low tide 30mins to dry land. put down our stuffs before making way to the park's trail. first up! 700m telok assam trail then to 300m tanjung sapi trail! head back for lunch (and due to everyone's laziness~ we wasted like 1hr of trekking time) weird sy wanted to play cards at the submit...wth! the trails after lunch were amazing~ we headed to lintang trail but due to photo taking n stuffs, it slowed us down and grey clouds were blowing in our direction~ our plans were actually to trek the bigger loop but the unforeseen weather limited us to the smaller one (bo bian~). after walking like it never gonna end, we finally reached the junction connecting the path to the waterfall. headed towards telok tajor trail. the sky was getting darker then before and lighting could be seem followed by the rare thunder. we quicken our pace and i tell you! this was the fastest ive ever gone...climbing up the tree roots and walking down them is no easy feat considering the killer thorny plants hanging from the sides and above us...omg o.o! we almost given up the idea of the waterfall~ to our surprise~~~ the waterfall was so huge my pinkie could stop its water from flowing. made our way back carrying our extremely tired smelly bodies back to civilisation. the shocked from the waterfall almost sparked off the insanity in everyone. took us 5hrs for that freaking waterfall trek (too much of a disappointment). everyone reached back safely and it didnt rain! what a relief~ watched the sunset from the beach before heading for dinner! everyone wanted to do the night trak but from the experience we got during the day~ most of us hesitated. in the end...we waited till night trek regi was over~ (the rest started a very disturbing conversaion). head back to bathe (the freaking toilet was scary! and the windows~~~ are transparent). sy taught us bridge! finally learnt bridge (and from nusis, contract bridge is supposingly for competition). anw, james head for bed while the rest took a small walk (there was nothing to see) to the beach. lights off! 26may woke up early (becos shaun told the ferry dude to come at 1130). went to the beach for seashells (got hold of a hermit crab that doesnt wanna get out of the shell)...had a taste of tongka ali in coffee. head back to finish packing where a green snake caught hold of our attention o.o and off we go from the boring bako nature park! (it was raining~ during our ferry right back). manage to catch the 12pm bus. anw, head to the nearby hawker center for lunch. laksa and kolo mee was yummy! + soya bean milk (: the rest wanted to head back to the souvenir shop again (actually sy wanted to get the killer flute pipe). all of the shops were open (: had the luxury of time to browse thru shops around chinatown and also visited the market (where sy and i brought dates). next, we headed to buy whatever stuffs we had left before heading bk to the same place to eat, this time sy and i had chicken rice. the drink stall aunty was freaking funny la! she was saying this in chinese...'black, red, yellow, white soft drinks' hahaha! no one had a clue what she was mumbling. in the end, sy had gotten herself a snow white (lol the aunty was saying that in chinese) after filling our stomach, we walked down the mini jetty where the water is dark green~ (someone was water ski-ing during our first day there)...omg i wont wanna drop in that water x.x got into a taxi followed by a mad rush to get our tickets (there was a jam in kuching~). home~ Tschus! crazy surreal trip~ 0 comments |
